ABOUT:
Mark Tovar's heart is whimsical, deep and serious all at once. Frequently working several pieces at a time, his complex nature is revealed as childlike wonder through several genres.

As an Outsider Artist you'll often see Mark with his camera strapped around his neck. For a long time you have recognized him by his long black hair and the fact that he was at every artists opening from LA and Ventura to Ojai.

Recently his art shows in this area of Ventura have been in the Shanghai Beer Garden and also the Anacapa Brewery. Every month you are likely to see a Tovar painting in the Stoneworks Gallery at Michelle Chapin's stone sculpture studio on Park Row. These are themed art shows that many of the local artists participate in together.

In Ojai, Mark has archived many photos of various shows created by some of the wonderful artists throughout the area exhibiting in galleries such as the 102 the 525 and the Porch Gallery. You will also see him visit many of the Ojai Valley Museum exhibits he even took a trip to Beato's Studio in the Upper Ojai Valley.

Because of Mark's outgoing inquisitive nature many people don't realize that he is in fact a wonderful artist and quite prolific. Engaging in conversation with artists, Mark is excited about seeing other people's work and talking to them to see what makes them tick.

Now people will see what makes Mark tick, when they come to see his paintings
